St. Thomas Orthodox Church welcomes you

biglogoWelcome to St. Thomas Orthodox Church of India in Dover, New Jersey, U.S.A. We are a small and growing community of 40 families. Our Vicar, Rev. Fr. Shibu Daniel leads the congregation in Sunday Mass and prayers. The mass is celebrated according to the traditions of the Indian Orthodox Church. Besides Malayalam, Holy Qurbana is celebrated in English every last Sunday of the month.

Our faith traces its roots to the day St. Thomas the Apostle arrived at the shores of the state of Kerala, in the southwest corner of India. Our Church belongs to the Northeast Diocese of America under the Malankara Orthodox Church led by H.H. Baselios Marthoma Paulose II, the Catholicos of the East and the Malankara Metropolitan. Our present diocesan Metropolitan is His Grace Zachariah Mar Nicholovos.

Our website shows just a glimpse of our church’s history, traditions and activities, and we welcome you to visit our church and join us in worship services, to learn more.

The Great Lent (Feb 15 – April 4, 2015)
The fifty days that leads up to Easter are the days of spiritual preparation and we are encouraged to think about the way we are living and the choices we are making in our life. Let this Lenten season make a positive influence on all of us.
